Due to more stringent parameters to set up Regulatory limits in numerous countries, it appears essential to develop tools and information systems as close as possible to national environmental conditions.

In REACH the classical reference model for environmental exposure estimation has always been EUSES. The spreadsheet version (ECETOC TRA) has some advantages but is not the panacea. Our environment team has therefore heavily invested in mastering numerous models (FOCUS PELMO, Pearl, Macro, PRZM, SWASH, TOXWA, EUSES, GEMCO, CHARM, etc.) which have been validated and can be used for European exposure modelling programmes.

CEHTRA is also investing in Research programmes to study how different representative regulatory scenarios under local conditions, make it possible to refine Regulatory scenarios (Model Maker) with the aim of normalising field soil dissipation studies. Our customers now have access to the results of this research but also made new improvements which can be tailor made to their requirements.
