Biocides
The scope of the Biocides Directive (98/8/EC) is very wide covering 23 different product types. Some scientists in CEHTRA have been members of the European Chemicals Bureau of the European Commission and have been involved in the review program or have been involved in the production of dossiers for several product types (wood preservatives, disinfectants, slimicides, antifouling, liquid cooling and processing systems…).
CEHTRA can help you to comply with the directive through the following steps:

General regulatory support for biocides

Preparation of all documents and dossiers (I, II and III), and follow-up actions within the E.U. or country regulatory process

Post Annex I inclusion, preparation of country registration dossiers

Environmental and human exposure modeling for documents II, or problem solving

Position papers in toxicology and risk assessment, including proposals for defence strategy and meetings with the authorities

Study monitoring in any of the required areas (toxicology, ecotoxicology, environment, residues, efficacy.. etc), and even including performance of the full study programme for in the case of a new biocidal compound

Development of rationales for study waivers

Coordination of task forces or consortia

CEHTRA is recognized at the highest level of governmental experts: e.g. AFSSET, the French Agency for Environmental & Occupational Health, contracted CEHTRA to select the optimal active substance to prevent CHIKV infection.
