Plant Protection Products

The two founding members of CEHTRA have spent most of their previous career as toxicology, environmental and regulatory experts in the agrochemical industry. They have also been members of the “Commission des Toxiques” (now AFSSA/DIVE) for several years where they have gained a vast experience in dossier evaluation.

Many of CEHTRA’s scientists have been involved in all aspects of pesticide registration and support:

  • Development of new molecules for different clients
  • Nearly 100 projects related to the inclusion of a substance into annex I of 91/414 CEE directive including a dozen of complete dossiers and many dossier resubmissions.
  • More than 80 projects related to complete annex III submission and a large number of other projects for specific human or environmental risk assessments.
  • A large number of position papers to defend client position for classification, study waiving, human or environmental risk assessments with a good success record.
  • 22 worker exposure study-related contracts among which 12 complete worker exposure studies, several of which were designed for modeling purposes.
  • 5 study monitoring projects in physic-chemistry, toxicology, ecotoxicology and environmental fate involving several hundredth studies, including many high tier studies.
  • Participation in the preparation and/or validation of all the new E.U. operator/worker exposure models for agrochemical industry since 2001.
  • Global regulatory support in France and other E.U. countries for several clients.
  • And a lot of other tasks like task force management, due diligence, Experimental use permits, FDS, labeling….
  • Preparation of documents and dossiers required for EU and National registrations
  • Support for the development of new active substances in the EU falling under the Plant Protection Product Directive including assistance in setting up programme, laboratory selection, study monitoring, dealing with issues, registration strategy, building up dossiers up to submission when required.
  • Coordination of task forces or consortia
  • Environmental and ecotoxicological risk assessments
  • Human exposure modeling
  • Position papers in toxicology and risk assessment, including proposals for defense strategy and meetings with the authorities
  • Study monitoring (specifications, toxicology, ecotoxicology, environmental fate, residues, efficacy...)
  • Development of rationales for study waivers
  • Due diligence
